The UK’s Credit Union Foundation launched an initiative in 2019 to to collect and preserve the memories of people involved in setting up and running credit unions before 2000 – the Save and Sound project. Through the use of oral history recordings, Save and Sound wants to make sure that the efforts of people who worked to set up and run credit unions in the early days of the movement in GB are not forgotten. Save and Sound was one of the topics addressed by episode one of the Talking Podcasts series, and in this latest issue, Chris Smith gets an update on progress from the project leader Abbie Shelton, and finds out from contributors Karen Bennett from Enterprise Credit Union and Anca Voinea from Co-op News about their interest in the project and why they think it is important.
