2020 has been a year that has renewed focus on diversity in all aspects of society. As co-operative organisations, owned by and serving their members, credit unions should be properly inclusive and representative, whether in their outreach in communities, in the delivery of products and services, in employment of staff – or in the leadership of the credit union through the board. To evaluate diversity on credit union boards, in this podcast Chris Smith seeks views from Robert Kelly, CEO at the Association of British Credit Unions (ABCUL), Marlene Shiels OBE, CEO at Capital Credit Union in Scotland, Valerie Walwyn-Tait, CEO at Plane Saver Credit Union, Dr Karl George MBE, Managing Director at The Governance Forum, as well as Rob Shearing, CEO, and Kevin Fearon, Chair, at Wolverhampton City Credit Union.
