Nick attended the Responsible Finance conference in Glasgow’s amazing City Chambers in March. In addition to meeting some interesting community finance providers, mainly serving SMEs, a highlight of the event was the launch of the End High Cost Credit Alliance (HCCA), spearheaded by Michael Sheen. HCCA gained considerable media profile during the week, promoting alternative lenders such as CDFIs and credit unions – hopefully CFCFE members and other community finance providers are able to take some advantage as the campaign continues. Good to catch up in particular with Chris Smyth and Christine Moore of Leeds and Manchester credit unions respectively
