This is a summary of how in-person attendance at the Conference will work. If you have further questions, please contact Nick Money (details below).
This option is available to CFCFE members only. The venue is the Doubletree Hilton Hotel at Manchester Airport.
This is a ‘hybrid’ event – in-person attendees will be watching presenters on screens but breakout groups will be face-to-face. Participation in the online chat will require attendees to have the Zoom meeting on their phone, tablet or laptop (muted, of course!). We are confident that this new format will work well, but it is another step into new territory for us so we hope participants will work with us to make it a success..
Our planning is based on the COVID rules and regulations as announced in UK on 19 July, and those of the hotel. The table layout will assume social distancing is not required. Masks are also optional whilst seated, but may be required when moving around the hotel. This will be confirmed on arrival, but we trust attendees will respect local guidance.
Of course, we will have to respond to any changes to local or national regulations or the policies of the hotel so we hope for your understanding if we do have to make any changes. The Zoom link is the back-up if the worst happens and we have to cancel in-person attendance. If you have concerns about any of this, please contact Nick to discuss.
The hotel is easily accessible from Manchester Airport terminals, rail and tram stations and the M56 motorway. There are good parking facilities (£5 per day).
There will be refreshments on arrival and through the day, including lunch in the restaurant. And of course attendees are welcome to stay afterwards to socialise.
Accommodation – there is a special delegate room rate of £105 including breakfast for anyone wishing to stay before or after, accessible here.
We are delighted that we are able to provide a face-to-face option after so many months and very much look forward to seeing members who wish / are able to take this option.
