A busy week in Liverpool in June delivering governance training and sharing experiences of financial education with CEOs and trade association representatives from Romanian credit unions – casas de ajutor reciproc (CARs). This is an Erasmus+ funded project, with in GB by our partner LJMU and our member Co-op Credit Union and in Romania by UNCARSR and Asociata Laboratorul Solidarite. At the end of the week we were going by the Italian partners Federazione Trentino della Cooperazione and Formazione Lavoro. It was great to hear about the work that the CARs do in their communities (they are much more numerous in Romania than in Britain, and on the whole more commercially successful too) but also to see such common ground in co-operative and credit union values. We visit Italy in October!
