The British credit union movement was given further recognition last week through three Queens Birthday Honours awards, including to staff from two of our member credit unions, Capital and Enterprise. Karen Bennett, CEO at Enterprise Credit Union in Merseyside and President of the Association of British Credit Unions (ABCUL) becomes Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for services to the credit union sector and to financial inclusion. Chris Bell, Senior Member Services Officer at Capital Credit Union in Scotland is made Member of the British Empire (MBE) for his work during the COVID-19 crisis. Joanne Swaine, Area Branch Manager for Leeds Credit Union, is also made MBA for services during the pandemic. Congratulations to Chris, Joanne and Karen.
